Thank You For Smoking *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Breakdown]

I first saw the trailer for this film in front of another great movie "The Matador". Have wanted to see it since then. After seeing the movie in advance, for free, I would now like to read the book (Christopher Buckley, Author) of the same name. So Jose, Caitlin, Allen and myself took the trek into the Landmark Theater in Cambridge this evening. The movie started at seven, we were there at 6:30, still ended up near the front, in front of some very dumb people.

The story follows Nick Naylor, a tobacco lobbyist in his pursuit to put a positive spin on "Big Tobacco". The movie has quite the cast; William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Katie Holmes, Sam Elliot (to name a few) and Aaron Eckhart in the lead. Cameron Bright is also in this film, his name is popping up a lot lately. There are some great lines in the movie, quite funny. Great stuff.


[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] My feeling on this movie is Muy Bueno, I do not think it will be overly popular in the box office, due to possible limited release, we shall see. Smart and Clever are a few words that come to mind.

[Jose] I agree, this movie was Muy Bueno. I'm not a big Aaron Eckhart fan, but he was perfect for this role, and the rest of the cast was great as well. Katie Holmes plays a dirty girl, so what's not to like? Some might think this movie promotes smoking, but it doesn't. Check it out for yourself and be the judge...
