Inside Man *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Freshness]

So Tuesday was Five Dollar Movie Night. Lately our group has only consisted of The Doyles, Jose and Myself. That night thought, like back in the day, I think the total was 12. Interesting night, Jose and Alexis saw Failure To Launch (I would have gone, but I am on overnights and sleep is good), John and Michelle were in a fender bender (everyone is ok, well Michelle is angry, as it is a new car). Caboose was late, no surprise.

Anyways, the movie starts with a brief plot outline from Clive Owen, then the worst music EVER starts up (Sooo bad). Clive and a group of people dress up like painters and go into a bank and begin to rob it. A passing police officer is notified by some people that there is smoke coming from the bank, and now we have a hostage situation. Enter Denzel as the negotiator. Demands are made, plot twists, end credits.

[Jose]

Alright, so I liked the music, sue me. When I fist saw the trailers for Inside Man, I thought it looked great, then saw "Directed by Spike Lee". I thought that was the kiss of death, as I've never liked his stuff. Clive Owen is good in everything, even King Arthur. Denzel is well, Denzel. I only had two issues with the flick:

1. There was no need to "sex up" Jodie Foster, it didn't seem right.
2. Willem Dafoe is very under used here.

[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] Overall I was a tad leary of the fact the movie was directed by Spike Lee, I got over that fairly quickly (once the opening music ended). I enjoyed the movie quite a bit and will say it is Muy Bueno. Go see it, I do not think you will be disappointed.

[Jose] Not bad, but predictable. The cast helps it quite a bit however. If you like any of the actors, I say check it out. Muy Bueno

Find Me Guilty *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Breakdown]

So four of us went to the movies on Sunday. It was Jose, Caboose, Rook and Myself (The Freshness). We caught a double, this movie started it off. Let me first start off by saying that I did not expect too much from this movie. I mean come on, it's Vin Diesel with hair, playing a lawyer.

The movie starts of with Diesel getting shot, then getting busted in a drug bust. He gets locked up for 30 years, then the DA wants to make a deal with him, to testify against his "gang" in a very large trial. Diesel defends himself and the hilarity ensues. The trial last over 21 months, the jury is back in 14 hours, what was the verdict? See the movie to find out, or research the actual events as it is based on a true story.

[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] Well Find Me Guilty of thinking this movie is Muy Bueno. Sorry, had to. I think this is another movie that will slip through the cracks. Don't let it pass you by.

[Jose] One hell of a movie. Who knew Vin Diesel could act? Going into the movie, I thought his hair would be the funniest part. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole movie. Sidney Lumet did an excellent job writing, and directing. He made the impossible happen, he made me care about Vin Diesel. Muy bueno for me as well. On a personal note, if I'm ever on trial, I want a midget to represent me.

V For Vendetta *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Breakdown]

We have now seen this movie twice. The first time was in Digital on opening day. Then today at Imax, the only way to see it. Remember, Remember The 5th Of November.

So the movie starts with a bang, well sort of. Natalie Portman and V are getting ready for a night out, the scene bounces back and forth between the two. Evey (Portman) is out after curfew and is accosted by some men, who turn out to be men of the "law", V saves her and then takes her to a rooftop, where he blows up a building. From there everything goes downhill for Evey. You want any more details, see the movie. Or better yet read the comic, which The Freshness has yet to do as well.

[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] This movie is Muy Bueno. Go see it now, a must see on the big screen. Good dialogue, good explosions, even some nudity, granted it was a big pile of dead people, but hey beggars can't be choosers.

[Jose] Natalie Potman is Muy Buena, and so is this movie. You'll like it, just a feeling.

Benchwarmers *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Breakdown]

So today Jose, Josh and myself made the early morning trek to Randolph in order to catch another sneak screening. My 4th of the year so far and Jose's 3rd, we are on track to break some sort of record. Moving on, the theater was quite packed, they were also having a screening for Ice Age 2 at the same time.

So the movie starts off with Rob Schneider finding out two of his friends (John Heder and David Spade) have never played baseball before. He decides that they should meet up and play on the field, some punk kid team shows up and the decision is made that the full team would play the three adults for use of the field. Of course Heder and Spade cannot play, so Schneider takes the reins and strikes them all out and hits all sorts of home runs. So Jon Lovitz finds out about this from his son who has been picked on by the "punk team" and since he is a billionaire he sets up a tournament including the three adults and all the "punk teams". So there is the basic plot without giving away too much.

[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] Since the way we decide is "Good or Bad" I will have to say this movie is Bueno. See it at a matinee. There are amusing parts, but overall I thought it was kind of flat. An amusing story with a good message, just see it cheap.

[Jose] I have to say I enjoyed it more than Nick did. Maybe because it remided me of us. One guy is semi-normal, with a wife, and decent job (Nick), one works at a video storeand is afraid to talk to the girl he likes (me), and the other doesn't have a license yet, and delivers newspapers (John). Benchwarmers has some really funny stuff as well as some strange stuff, especially for a PG13 flick. but overall I give it a BUENO.

Thank You For Smoking *May Contain Spoilers*

[The Breakdown]

I first saw the trailer for this film in front of another great movie "The Matador". Have wanted to see it since then. After seeing the movie in advance, for free, I would now like to read the book (Christopher Buckley, Author) of the same name. So Jose, Caitlin, Allen and myself took the trek into the Landmark Theater in Cambridge this evening. The movie started at seven, we were there at 6:30, still ended up near the front, in front of some very dumb people.

The story follows Nick Naylor, a tobacco lobbyist in his pursuit to put a positive spin on "Big Tobacco". The movie has quite the cast; William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Katie Holmes, Sam Elliot (to name a few) and Aaron Eckhart in the lead. Cameron Bright is also in this film, his name is popping up a lot lately. There are some great lines in the movie, quite funny. Great stuff.

[The Verdict]

[The Freshness] My feeling on this movie is Muy Bueno, I do not think it will be overly popular in the box office, due to possible limited release, we shall see. Smart and Clever are a few words that come to mind.

[Jose] I agree, this movie was Muy Bueno. I'm not a big Aaron Eckhart fan, but he was perfect for this role, and the rest of the cast was great as well. Katie Holmes plays a dirty girl, so what's not to like? Some might think this movie promotes smoking, but it doesn't. Check it out for yourself and be the judge...
